The problem
Starfile is the online network of entertainment writers and PR professionals. It had a huge knowledge and contacts bank but no real automation or digital platform behind it, so a lot of staff time went on manual tasks.
We took the team through each step of moving that work online, and their industry insight shaped the platform throughout.
What we had to solve
Assets for every artist
Journalists and PR managers needed the right images and material for each band and artist, quickly.
Sign-up without the paperwork
Registrations had to guide staff through the checks they needed to make, instead of relying on email and memory.
Up-to-the-minute content
Members expect specialist content that is current, so publishing had to be quick.
Fast for users, simple for staff
A comprehensive admin behind a front end that stays quick.
What we built

A members' platform with an asset library for every band and artist, managed from a straightforward admin. When a journalist or PR professional registers, automated tasks guide Starfile's staff through each step of the approval.
Once approved, members browse specialist, up-to-date content and download the assets they need for their daily work. CMS and CRM sit together, so the team publishes and manages members in one place.
Artist asset library
Images and materials for each band and artist, ready to download.
Automated registration
New members trigger tasks that guide staff through approval.
CMS and CRM together
Content and member records managed in one admin.

The outcome
Starfile went from a contacts bank run by hand to a platform that runs much of the process itself, delivered over a short timeframe. The time it saves staff on manual tasks is the result the team talks about most.

Applications, assessments, panels and deadlines. Thirty minutes on the phone is usually enough to tell you whether it is a six month job.
